The Office for Sponsored Programs and the Office for Research offer a number of programs designed to build the research community on the campus of The University of Alabama. These activities include online training, onsite training, the Research Administrators Support Group, funding searches for faculty, funding search resources, and internal funding opportunities.

We are always looking for ways to better connect with our faculty and build our community of research, please contact us with any ideas or suggestions for future outreach endeavors.

Funding Searches for Faculty:

Contact Angie Shotts ( or 348 8070 to construct a targeted funding search for your research.

Funding Search Resources:

In addition to target searches, OSP offers a number of different avenues to build your own funding searches, including COS Pivot and an aggregate list of freely available web-tools.

The Research Administrators Support Group (RASG):

RASG will educate and support research administrators through open forums for discussion, facilitating the exchange of ideas and best practices, and encouraging networking and peer mentoring.

Internal Funding Opportunities:

The Research Grants Committee (RGC) and the Research Stimulation Program. Each of these opportunities provides funding for different activities, with the RGC assisting scholarly activities for untenured faculty and the Stimulation program providing funding to foster postdoctoral research at UA.
