The University of Alabama American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) is the Federal Government’s response to the country’s recent economic crisis. This Act is also known as the Stimulus Bill as it is an effort to stimulate the American economy. The ARRA will have a dramatic impact on research and development as it "provides $21.5 billion in additional funds for scientific endeavors." Additionally, ARRA funds target infrastructure, education, and social services. The University of Alabama is fortunate to already be a recipient of ARRA funds across a wide range of programs.

As part of the ARRA, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is responsible for ensuring greater financial transparency. This website will act as a portal for the public to track ARRA funds awarded to The University of Alabama. Beginning August 10, 2009, the table below will be populated on the tenth day of each month with data from all the University’s ARRA related awards received and proposals submitted through the close of the preceding month.
